310 / 310S Stainless Steel Pipe For High-Temperature Steam
Zanechat vzkaz
If you are looking for reliable stainless steel tubing for low-pressure steam applications at temperatures up to 800℃, then AISI 310/310S stainless steel tubing is one of the most proven and cost-effective material options.
What is AISI 310/310S stainless steel tubes?
AISI 310/310S stainless steel tubes are high-alloy austenitic stainless steel containing 24-26% chromium and 19-22% nickel. They possess excellent oxidation resistance, withstanding temperatures up to 1150℃, and exhibit strong resistance to sulfidation and scale formation in high-temperature environments. After solution annealing at 1040-1065℃, they have a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa, a yield strength of >= 205 MPa, an elongation of up to 40%, and a hardness below 225 HV. They are widely used in applications such as heat exchangers, furnace components, and chemical reactors.

What is the difference between 310S and 304/316 stainless steel pipes?
Compared with 304 or 316 stainless steel, 310 / 310S pipes cost about 40–70% more, but they offer significantly longer service life and stable oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1050℃, resulting in a lower total lifecycle cost for high-temperature steam applications.
AISI 310 / 310S Stainless Steel Pipe Price (Data-Based Reference)
As of 2025, the market price of AISI 310 / 310S stainless steel pipes typically ranges from USD 12 to 18 per kg, reflecting their high nickel (≈19–22%) and high chromium (≈24–26%) alloy content. For small-diameter seamless pipes such as 8 mm OD with SCH 5–SCH 10 wall thickness, the unit price is usually at the upper end of this range due to precision manufacturing and higher processing costs. Final pricing is influenced by nickel price fluctuations, pipe length (2 m cutting), order quantity, heat treatment condition, and surface finish.
Gnee offers AISI 310/310S stainless steel pipes, available in seamless and welded types, with outer diameters ranging from 3.2 mm to 800 mm and wall thicknesses from 0.25 mm to 50 mm, conforming to ASTM A312/A269 standards. We offer bright annealed (BA) surface finish to ensure a clean surface. Mechanical properties are guaranteed, with a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation up to 40%. Hardness is controlled to below 225 HV after solution annealing at 1040-1065℃ and rapid quenching. Each batch comes with a complete EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate, ensuring verified chemical composition, mechanical properties, and non-destructive testing results.
